The City Assessor is responsible for:
- Measuring new structures and noting all land improvements on sites
- Making detailed sketches of all structures and land improvements on field cards
- Viewing structures and noting detailed interior and exterior information on field cards
- Calculating values of the structures and land improvements
- Reviewing all work completed with the use of building permits
- Entering new plats on the assessment roll
- Making parcel splits as they occur
- Recording all building permits
- Placing all values in the assessment roll and ensuring that all value change notices are sent to property owners
- Attending open book and Board of Review
