Wisconsin River Bridge Project

The WI DOT is currently working on expanding the existing Wisconsin River Bridge in the City of Mosinee. This project is expected to be near completion in July 2010. For more details, please visit our Wisconsin River Bridge Project page located at:www.mosinee.wi.us/news/bridge.html

Roundabout

The WI DOT will be improving the intersection of State Hwy 153 (Main Street) and Old Hwy 51 in Mosinee. The intersection improvement project will include the construction of a Modern Roundabout which will eliminate the four-way stop sign traffic controls that are presently located at this major intersection. According to the WisDOT, there are approximately 16,000 vehicles which travel through this intersection each day. WisDOT schedules pavement repairs for east WIS 153

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has informed the city that they are preparing to complete significant pavement repairs to portions of east WIS 153 beginning this summer. The east WIS 153 pavement repair project area will be from the Old 51 intersection to East View Drive, located at the east end of the Central Wisconsin Business Park. According to WisDOT, the pavement repair project will be completed in the following three phases:

Phase 1: Pavement repair work will be completed between:

· Old 51 and Cherry Streetà Both eastbound lanes

· Cherry Street and I-39 southbound off rampà Outer lane for eastbound and westbound directions

· I-39 southbound ramps to East View Driveà Outer lane for eastbound direction

Phase 2: Pavement repair work will be completed between:

· Cherry Street and East View Driveà Inside lane for eastbound and westbound directions

Phase 3: Pavement repair work will be completed between:

· Old 51 and Cherry Streetà Both westbound lanes

· I-39 southbound ramps to I-39 northbound rampsàOuter lane for westbound direction and on the entrance and exit ramps to I-39

WisDOT has informed the city that there will be lane closures during the pavement repair project, but there will be at least one lane of traffic open in each direction during construction. Businesses and residents located on east WIS 153 within the project area will have access to their property during construction and the contractor will be contacting affected property owners to discuss temporary driveway closures. The repair work is scheduled to begin in late August 2010 and WisDOT is anticipating that the project will be completed by early November 2010.
