The City Assessor is responsible for:

• Measuring new structures and noting all land improvements on sites

• Making detailed sketches of all structures and land improvements on field cards

• Viewing structures and noting detailed interior and exterior information on field cards

• Calculating values of the structures and land improvements

• Reviewing all work completed with the use of building permits

• Entering new plats on the assessment roll

• Making parcel splits as they occur

• Recording all building permits

• Placing all values in the assessment roll and ensuring that all value change notices are sent to property owners

• Attending open book and Board of Review
